Title: Pharmacy Technician - Specialty Pharmacy Fulfillment
Location: Frisco, TX, US, 75033
Pay: $22.00/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week. Availability required between 7:00 AM and 6:30 PM. Must be able to work a closing shift (10:00 AM-6:30 PM) at least one day per week. A set schedule will be assigned after onboarding.
Employment Type: Initial W2 Assignment with high potential for extension or conversion to full-time employment (FTE) based on business needs. Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment.

Job Overview:
This position supports the fulfillment operations of a national specialty pharmacy that provides medications for patients with complex and ongoing health conditions. The pharmacy processes a high volume of prescriptions each day and helps ensure patients receive their medications accurately and on time. You will prepare prescriptions for fulfillment by entering and updating prescription and patient information, processing refill requests, and resolving prescription exceptions or insurance claim issues. You will also operate automated pharmacy equipment and assist with counting, labeling, packaging, and preparing medications for shipment. In addition, you'll communicate with patients and physician offices regarding prescription processing when needed and refer clinical questions to a pharmacist. This role combines pharmacy data entry with hands-on fulfillment responsibilities throughout the prescription dispensing process.

Job Responsibilities

• Sort, count, fill, label, pack, and prepare prescription medications for shipment
• Operate automated pharmacy machinery and support movement of inventory through fulfillment stages
• Process refill requests and handle prescription orders in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
• Troubleshoot missing prescription details and interpret medical abbreviations (SIG codes) to ensure accurate processing
• Enter new patient registration and prescription information into the designated system using established data entry procedures
• Resolve data entry exceptions and assist in correcting prescription workflow issues
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and assist with routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment
• Resolve third-party insurance rejects by reviewing details, correcting information, and resubmitting claims based on plan requirements
• Identify and escalate operational or processing issues to senior staff when appropriate

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-4 years of Pharmacy Technician experience highly preferred.
• Current Texas Pharmacy Technician license/registration required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred (not required).
• Basic computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to work in a high-volume pharmacy environment.
