Shipping / Receiving Clerk
Our client in Richmond, Illinois has emerged as an independent dry type transformer manufacturer and supplier of high-quality power and dry type distribution transformers and reactors. They are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Shipping/Receiving Clerk to join their team. This position involves handling shipments, verifying accuracy, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities of the Shipping / Receiving Clerk
- Verify and record all items loaded for shipment.
- Pack and label products following established procedures.
- Transport products from the shipping dock to outbound vehicles.
- Process transaction paperwork for both outbound and inbound orders.
- Receive shipments, ensure quality and count accuracy, and report damages or discrepancies to the Supervisor and Purchasing.
- Transport products from the receiving dock to appropriate storage locations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the docks and surrounding work area.
- Assist in weighing scrap materials and loading them onto trucks, reporting weights and dimensions as needed.
- Communicate shipment details to the Logistics Coordinator when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Shipping / Receiving Clerk Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- 1-2 years of related experience or a combination of training, education, and experience.
- Ability to work under general supervision while following team guidance and direction.
- Capability to drive a forklift (company certification required).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Pay for Shipping / Receiving Clerk
Starting at $18/hour.
