Advance Talent Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to support a busy accounting team in Bradenton, FL. This seasonal part-time opportunity is ideal for an experienced AP professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and has strong organizational and communication skills.

Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of approved invoices and check requests, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role also supports month-end close activities, vendor management, and accounts for payable operations for affiliated entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure invoices and check requests have proper approvals and general ledger coding prior to payment
• Route and follow up on unapproved or improperly coded invoices
• Accurately enter and voucher invoices into the accounts payable system
• Process check runs and vendor payments in a timely manner
• Prepare batches for vouchering claims for Accounting Team Specialists
• Complete vendor setup and maintain required documentation
• Research and resolve duplicate payment issues and vendor discrepancies
• Maintain records related to IRS Form 1099 and Unclaimed Property compliance
• Prepare monthly accruals for general ledger closings
• Maintain positive vendor relationships through communication and problem resolution
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of direct experience in a computerized, high-volume accounts payable department
• Basic understanding of:

o Period-end accruals

o 3-way matching of payables and purchasing documents

o IRS Form W-9 and 1099 reporting requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and stay organized
• 10-key by touch calculator skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Two (2)+ years of accounts payable experience
• Experience with vendor communication and problem resolution
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Experience using Dynamics GP (Great Plains) Accounts Payable module
• Knowledge of Unclaimed Property regulations
