Data Systems Engineer

Salary: $93,000 - 133,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
• We look for 5-8 years of experience in systems engineering, data integration, data management, IT systems support, or data platform administration.
• We need working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• We prefer experience supporting system integrations or data pipelines.
• We value familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Azure.
• We expect exposure to APIs and structured data formats such as JSON and XML.
• We need experience documenting systems, workflows, or technical procedures.
• We look for the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple active projects.
• We require the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Common Access Card.
• We require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance or higher.
• We value the ability to work independently from requirements through implementation.
• We look for proactive problem-solving with minimal supervision.
• We need strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• We expect the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
• We require strong written documentation skills.
• Preferred qualifications include an active Secret security clearance, data governance experience, enterprise data catalog experience, exposure to data quality or metadata management tools, and experience in government, defense, utilities, or other regulated environments.
• Preferred certifications include Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Fundamentals, Power Platform Fundamentals, CompTIA Data+, CompTIA Security+, or AWS Cloud Practitioner.

• We support integration of data across enterprise systems, platforms, and repositories.
• We assist with building and maintaining data pipelines and automated workflows.
• We help connect source systems to enterprise data catalogs and governance platforms.
• We support API-based data exchanges and broader system interoperability.
• We help operationalize data governance policies through technical configuration and system alignment.
• We assist with metadata tagging, data classification, and lineage documentation.
• We help maintain system inventories and map data flows across business applications.
• We support onboarding systems into data catalog environments.
• We assist in monitoring data quality indicators and resolving data consistency issues.
• We support implementation of access controls and role-based permissions.
• We help identify and troubleshoot data gaps, inconsistencies, and integration failures.
• We document system integrations, data flows, and technical processes.
• We partner with data stewards, analysts, and system owners to advance governance objectives.
• We translate business data needs into technical implementation tasks.
