SMH Innovations - physician-led and physician-owned - is seeking a Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant for urgent locum tenens coverage at a Level II trauma center client of SMH Innovations in Redding, CA. First to fill - urgent need, and the site is now looking to fill 2 of these roles.
- Compensation: up to $200/hr.
- Schedule: PM shift, 3:00p-1:00a; multiple date blocks September 2026 through January 2026 (ongoing dates TBD).
- Duties: works largely autonomously supporting the on-call trauma surgeon and consulting ICU/hospitalist services; responds to trauma activations; manages documentation, orders, and bedside procedures (chest tubes, arterial lines, central lines, suturing, fracture reduction, wound care); average census 20-25 trauma patients/day; one other Trauma NP/PA covers days (7a-5p). Not a surgical-assist role. EMR: Cerner CareB.
NCCPA (PA) or AACN (NP) certified; active CA license (NP furnishing number, or CA CSEC completion for PAs); CA DEA, ACLS, ATLS, BLS required; must be actively working at a TJC-accredited hospital; local/no-flight candidates preferred. Apply now with your available dates.
