PhysiatristA physiatrist specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), focusing on restoring function, reducing pain, and improving quality of life through nonsurgical treatments. They diagnose conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, and muscles, and lead multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams. Duties includes, but are not limited to:Restoring mobility and physical functionManaging painImproving quality of lifeCoordinating comprehensive rehabilitation plansDiagnose and treat conditions involving the musculoskeletal and nervous systems (e.g., arthritis, back pain, stroke, spinal cord injury).Use nonsurgical treatments, including: Spine and joint injectionsNerve stimulatorsEMG/nerve conduction studiesUltrasound-guided proceduresPain management therapiesLead multidisciplinary rehab teams: physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, rehab nurses, and others.Coordinate care with primary care physicians, neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, and other specialists.Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Intermittent pm (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
