Senior Product Manager, Employee Experience The Senior Product Manager, Employee Experience is a key member of the Nordstrom HR Product Management team, responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the employee and manager experience and how they interact with Nordstrom's digital workplace as well as HR Operations. This PM will lead the vision and product design for a unified self‑service hub spanning web and mobile that brings together various operational touchpoints into a single, intuitive experience. Responsibilities Craft a multi‑year product vision and articulate the value proposition to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic vision. Evangelize the product vision across the organization and the broader company where appropriate. Define the approach to deliver on the broader product vision. Break down roadmaps into releasable features, own prioritization and sequencing to support strategic goals. Prioritize feature backlog, accounting for complexity, impact, and cohesion with business unit strategy. Orchestrate comprehensive product planning sessions within the domain and across dependencies. Lead customer research and independently synthesize insights to develop a deep understanding of product opportunities. Demonstrate a deep understanding of market value and trends, including competitor products, and incorporate them into product roadmaps. Write complete user stories and acceptance criteria within the domain and influence across domains. Drive progress against deliverables, proactively managing risks and dependencies so that outcomes are achieved. Determine testing strategy and other acceptance criteria requirements. Engage cross‑functionally to ensure incidents are appropriately triaged and addressed, communicating impacts across the business. Prioritize the product roadmap to balance short‑term deliverables with long‑term progress across multiple domains. Develop feature timeline and sequencing plan within a product line, considering technical and operational constraints and delivery of iterative value. Qualifications 6+ years in product management, with at least 2 years owning an end‑to‑end employee‑facing product. Demonstrated experience defining a product vision or strategy with a track record of driving cross‑functional alignment. Proven ability to ship AI‑ or ML‑enabled product capabilities, partnering with engineering to evaluate feasibility, risks, and value. Strong understanding of Generative AI concepts (e.g., agentic patterns, RAG, natural language interfaces, prompt design) and how they apply to employee and manager self‑service tools. Experience defining and tracking product metrics—adoption, task completion, self‑service deflection, usability—and using them to prioritize investments and report progress to leadership. Ability to translate complex organizational needs and stakeholder requirements into clear, actionable product plans and user stories. Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills; comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and adjusting course quickly. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting product strategy, roadmaps, and performance results to various levels within a matrixed organization. Experience with HR technology platforms (Workday, ServiceNow HRSD) preferred; retail industry product experience a plus. Knowledge of product management tools (e.g., Aha!, Jira) and Agile development practices. Outstanding organizational and time‑management skills. Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle. Partner with Change Management or other stakeholders to produce training materials and communications when plan structures or tools evolve. Partner cross‑functionally to effectively define, measure, and analyze processes to identify improvement opportunities. Technical background and understanding of software development principles, including Agile development and testing methodologies. Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics. Ability to explain complex technical material clearly to users with varying levels of proficiency.
