ACCOUNT BOOKKEEPER CASHIER (TAX COLLECTION)
LOCATION: 1 Old Bridge Plaza, Old Bridge NJ 08857 DESCRIPTION: The Township of Old Bridge is looking for a friendly, customer-oriented Account Bookkeeper Cashier for our Tax Collection Department. Under the direction of the Director of Finance, Tax Collector, and/or other designated supervisory personnel; performs bookkeeping, cashiering, and tax collection duties. This will include the accurate posting, processing, and verification of financial data utilizing the township's computer systems and software platforms. Performs additional related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Finance and/or Tax Collector. SALARY: In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is: $46,559.44MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma Bookkeeping experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Accurately control cash drawers, and make change for various cash denominations, and calculate interest Comply with all applicable local and state rules and regulations as mandated Routinely maintain essential records and files Strong customer service required; answer resident questions and troubleshoot concerns with courtesy and diplomacy Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and demonstrations, multi-task, and prioritize daily responsibilitiesEXAMPLES OF DAILY SCOPE OF WORK
Process cash receipts to the township computer and validate tax collections. Assist in the preparation of tax billing, mailing, and tax certificate sales Maintain analysis of tax delinquency notices and other mailings Review various general ledger accounts as directed Prove out cash drawers and make daily bank deposits Answer incoming phone lines, open and process mail, assist taxpayers as required Research and resolve taxpayer questions Other duties as assignedBENEFITS
