RN Registered Nurse - Crisis Receiving Stabilization (Millstone, NJ)

Job Title: RN | Location: Monmouth Medical Center (300 Second Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740) | Department: Crisis Receiving Stabilization | Shift: Night | Pay Range: $48.29 - $65.06 per hour Qualifications ASN or Nursing Diploma. Licensed as Registered Nurse for 3 to 5 years with 1 to 3 years experience in the Mental Health field. Strong communication, organizational and computer skills. BSN preferred (must be completed within 5 years upon hire). National Certification preferred. Certifications and Licenses Required BLS. Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License. NJ Driver's License. Essential Functions Provides psychiatric and medical services for adult clients within a psychosocial milieu. Assists the psychiatrist with medication clinic responsibilities. Administers medication orally and parenterally, schedules and documents physical exams and lab tests. Performs AIMES Screenings, nursing assessments, intakes, consults and maintains a case load and all pertinent clinical documentation. Facilitates groups and participates in department QA/QI. Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors. Ensures knowledge of patient population and adherence to ethical standards of practice per the ANA code of ethics. Maintains evidence‑based practice standards, records, and nursing protocols. Administers medication and provides medication education to patients and families. Assists the psychiatrist in medication clinics, reviewing lab reports and abnormal results, and relays information to the treatment team. Assists in patient billing through accurate record keeping of client attendance in groups and activities daily, and medication clinic services. Coordinates medical and nursing care for program clients, obtaining medical histories and documenting care. Completes nursing assessments, problem lists, data collection, and performance improvement projects. Develops and facilitates group work concerning medication and general health education. Integrates psychosocial, physical, nutritional and rehabilitation needs into patient care and discharge planning, demonstrating cultural awareness. Maintains standards of nursing care that are evidence‑based, outcome driven, and aligned with hospital policies and the ANA code of ethics. Participates in multidisciplinary staff meetings and presents treatment recommendations and progress reports. Assists other program staff with medical information and physician orders interpretation. Provides all necessary nursing services and supportive counseling to mental health consumers on an ongoing basis. Schedules physical exams for patients and follows through with all required medical care. Updates patient medical records and completes documentation of progress, goals, and program attendance.
