– Perform blood draws and specimen collection procedures, including urine and fecal samples, ensuring patient comfort and safety – Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens accurately according to established protocols – Explain the blood collection process to patients in a courteous and clear manner, placing patients at ease – Properly record and update patient information and test requisitions – Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, ensuring all labels and test orders are accurate – Package specimens securely for transport, maintaining sample integrity during transit – Store samples at required temperatures and follow specific procedures for specimen handling – Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations, including proper PPE use – Assist with laboratory maintenance, including cleaning, decontamination, and record keeping – Answer telephone inquiries and communicate laboratory results as needed – Participate in annual training and other departmental duties as assigned

– Experience with blood draws and specimen collection techniques – Ability to accurately label and process laboratory specimens – Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and compliance regulations – Excellent communication skills and patient interaction – Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and specimen handling – Ability to work independently and follow established procedures

– Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred – Certification or licensure as a Phlebotomist is desirable – High school diploma or equivalent required; formal phlebotomy training is a plus – Previous experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting preferred – Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with every other Saturday 7:30am-3:30pm – Ability to understand and follow health and safety standards and protocols
