Bankruptcy Attorney

We are seeking a Bankruptcy Attorney licensed in Nevada to represent institutional mortgage lenders and servicers in consumer and commercial bankruptcy matters. This role is ideal for an attorney with creditor-rights experience who enjoys managing complex cases, developing legal strategies, and advocating on behalf of secured creditors throughout the bankruptcy process. The successful candidate will oversee bankruptcy matters from referral through resolution, including proof of claim preparation, motions for relief from stay, plan review and objections, loss mitigation oversight, and post-petition compliance. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, provide strategic legal guidance, and protect creditor interests while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and investor requirements. Responsibilities Represent institutional mortgage lenders, servicers, and secured creditors in Chapters 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy proceedings. Manage bankruptcy matters from inception through resolution, including strategy development and case oversight. Prepare, review, and file proofs of claim, motions for relief from stay, objections, responses, and other bankruptcy-related pleadings. Review bankruptcy plans and provide recommendations to protect creditor rights and maximize recoveries. Advise clients regarding bankruptcy compliance, servicing requirements, investor guidelines, and risk management issues. Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings throughout Nevada. Conduct legal research and analyze applicable case law, statutes, regulations, and procedural requirements. Provide strategic recommendations regarding complex bankruptcy, creditor-rights, and secured-lending issues. Monitor case developments and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local bankruptcy rules and deadlines. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to efficiently manage case progression and achieve favorable outcomes. Maintain regular client communication regarding case status, legal strategy, and risk exposure. Manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional client service. Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of bankruptcy law experience. At least one (1) year of experience representing creditors in Nevada Bankruptcy Courts. Strong knowledge of federal bankruptcy law and applicable federal, state, and local rules. Experience analyzing case law and providing practical legal recommendations. Ability to independently manage bankruptcy matters from referral through resolution. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and effectively manage a high-volume caseload. Must be available to attend hearings and mediations throughout the State of Nevada as required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and legal technology platforms. Preferred Qualifications Experience representing mortgage servicers, lenders, financial institutions, or other secured creditors. Knowledge of mortgage servicing regulations, investor guidelines, loss mitigation, and post-petition compliance requirements. Experience handling contested bankruptcy matters, motion practice, and evidentiary hearings. Strong understanding of creditor-rights litigation and secured-creditor protections. Ability to provide business-focused legal advice while balancing legal risk and operational objectives. Experience managing high-volume bankruptcy portfolios in a fast-paced environment.
