About the Position

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 hours per week, rotating day/night shifts every 4 weeks (straight shifts for 4 consecutive weeks, then rotate to opposite shift); every other weekend (Friday and Saturday)

• Progressive Care Unit specializing in patients with active oncology diagnoses, post-surgical care, and various medical conditions including COPD, sepsis, and pneumonia
• Rotating shift schedule provides variety and work-life balance over the assignment
• Epic charting system preferred for streamlined documentation
• 44-bed unit with daily census of 34 patients, providing robust clinical exposure
• 32 hours of orientation to ensure smooth transition to the unit
• Specialized corrections unit with secure access protocols

Requirements:

• Current Ohio RN license or valid Compact license in hand at time of application
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of current, recent acute care experience in progressive care or telemetry
• Previous telemetry experience with strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
• Must have worked consistently in acute care within the last 12 months
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 professional references required (1 from manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for second reference)
• Willingness to float to different units within the organization as needed
• First-time travelers welcome; profiles subject to manager review

Core Skills:

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Telemetry monitoring
• Starting and maintaining IVs and peripheral line care
• Oxygen administration and isolation precautions
• Use of Rapid Response and Code teams

Patient Population:

• Adults and geriatric patients
• Patients with active oncology diagnoses including solid tumors and hematology
• Patients admitted for oncology workup or with cancer history admitted for other medical reasons
• Non-oncology patients with various medical and surgical conditions
