We are searching for a Loan Closer to provide remote support for a bank's SBA lending department. This position is remote and pays $80k to $90k with incentives.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare SBA loan files for closing and funding.
• Prepare and order all reports and forms required by SBA SOP to close and fund loans.
• Review and understand entity documentation, purchase/sale agreements, title commitments, and preliminary title reports.
• Prepare loan documents in compliance with SBA SOP, state and federal regulations, and internal lending policies.
• Work closely with underwriters, brokers, and customers throughout the closing process.
• Assist loan officers and lending support staff in resolving loan servicing inquiries and issues.
• Respond to customer and staff inquiries, directing them to the appropriate department or person as needed.
• Take on special projects, including gathering data and preparing reports for senior management, audits, and other personnel.
• Provide backup coverage for other department functions in the absence of staff members.
• Support business development by maintaining strong customer relationships and referring customers to appropriate staff for additional services.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of banking laws and SBA regulations through publications, seminars, and peer meetings.
• Support cross-training initiatives for other positions within the SBA department.
• Handle direct customer contact and phone support, answering questions and directing calls to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university.
• At least 5 years of banking experience and/or training, ideally with a background in financial analysis or credit review, may substitute for the degree requirement, or be combined with it.
• Working knowledge of title policies and related loan regulations such as RESPA and HMDA, along with lending policies governing loans to directors.
• Familiarity with branch operations, banking products and services, and the ability to read and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with intermediate proficiency in computer systems, word processing, spreadsheet, and specialty software, plus intermediate typing speed.
• Intermediate math skills, including the ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; and interpret rate, ratio, and percent data, including bar graphs.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to train personnel and write clear reports, correspondence, and procedures.
• Ability to manage complex, non-standardized problems involving multiple variables with minimal supervision.
