Freight Administrator

Sandvik Mining & Rock is recruiting for a Freight Administrator for our Romeoville warehouse Outbound Operations on our 1st Shift (Mon-Fri 8:00AM-4:30PM ).As the Freight Administrator you will be responsible for scheduling pick-ups with carriers, preparing shipping documents and following up on customer inquiries with internal and external stakeholders.Main responsibilities Include:Manage carrier changesScheduling, quoting, and routing of Truckload and Expedited shipmentsEnsure all consignments are shipped in the most cost-effective way and are in adherence with shipping guidelinesProcess unrouteable orders: Criticality 1 shipments for US, Canada, Mexico, and international shipmentsPrepare shipping documents: Bills of Lading, SLI’s, Commercial Invoices, etc.Ensure appropriate actions are taken to resolve shipping documentation issues or missed shipmentsFollow-up on daily inquiries for carrier change requests, expedited/must ship requests, exceptions and shipment tracking.Maintain integrity of freight management systemsWork collaboratively with internal and external stakeholdersMay perform other duties and participate in other projects as required within the departmentWarehouse administration and housekeepingOther duties as assigned due to business needsExperience and Required CompetenciesMinimum 2 years previous experience in a transportation environment including domestic and international shipmentsPrevious experience in a Transportation Management SystemExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong computer skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word and ExcelEDUCATION, LICENCES & CERTIFICATESHigh School or equivalent experience.
