About the Community Economic Defense Project (CEDP) & CED Law The Community Economic Defense Project (CEDP) is a Colorado-based nonprofit that was launched in 2020 as the COVID-19 Eviction Defense Project. Since then, we have served more than 1,000 people per month, bringing together housing lawyers, economists, data analysts, policy experts, organizers, and technologists to serve our clients. Our work has supported over 68,000 low‑income Coloradans across 54 counties and contributed to the passage of major legislation to prevent eviction, stop economic abuse, and make credit and life‑saving medication cheaper. Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bilingual Case Manager with lived experience to provide comprehensive, intensive case management to families experiencing housing instability in the Tri Cities areas (Englewood, Littleton, & Sheridan). As a Case Manager, you will help these families maintain or transition into stable housing and improve their overall well‑being. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients’ strengths and needs, including substance misuse, mental health concerns, housing barriers, and other challenges. Provide one‑on‑one support and stabilization planning, assisting families with housing, benefits, school navigation, healthcare, and other community systems. Collaborate with the Tri Cities lead family supervisor to manage resource connections and support coordination. Coordinate services and referrals, connecting clients with substance abuse treatment, mental health services, medical care, vocational training, and other appropriate community resources. Coordinate with school districts, McKinney‑Vento liaisons, community partners, and Tri‑Cities to support client needs. Participate in outreach events, resource events, and case conferencing; provide warm hand‑offs and referrals to housing, legal, behavioral health, workforce, and other supportive service providers on a case‑to‑case basis. Facilitate peer support groups and workshops related to housing stability, tenant rights, wellness, financial stability, and community resources for Tri‑Cities families. Return all work‑related emails, Slack messages, and voicemails in a timely manner. Advocate for clients, ensuring their rights and needs are respected and met; collaborate with external agencies, healthcare providers, and housing authorities to secure necessary services and support. Provide interventions and support, offering ongoing emotional support and guidance to clients and utilizing evidence‑based practices and motivational interviewing techniques to promote positive change. Maintain a caseload of at least 20 clients with varying acuity, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team. Travel for home visits and other client‑identified needs; transport clients using a CEDP vehicle or an approved personal vehicle. Monitor progress and outcomes, regularly assessing clients’ progress toward goals and adjusting care plans as needed. Complete consistent and daily documentation, such as case notes, assessments, and data entry into HMIS and HubSpot, ensuring compliance with all HIPAA regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements 1–3 years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, or mental health challenges. Knowledge of trauma‑informed care, harm reduction principles, and evidence‑based practices in substance abuse treatment and mental health. Familiarity with community resources, housing programs, and support services for homeless individuals. Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines without sacrificing quality. Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and trust with clients from diverse backgrounds. Strong organizational and time‑management abilities to manage a caseload and meet deadlines. Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations. Proficiency in documentation and record‑keeping. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for home visits and client transportation. People with lived experience are preferred. Additional Details Candidates must reside in Colorado, ideally within the greater Denver Metro area. The position includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (medical, dental, vision), and 401(k). Base salary of $63,354 per year, plus a $1,000 per year hybrid salary adjustment. All employees receive a technology stipend of $720 per year. Employees who utilize two languages or more at work are eligible for a $2,000 salary differential per year; a language assessment will be required. In‑person work is required; all employees must maintain current vaccination status in keeping with CDC recommendations.
