Job ID: 5791423 | Application Deadline: Posted until filled | Starting Date: Aug 3, 2026 | Position Type: Various | Job Duration: 9 months (8 March 2026 – 27 May 2027) | Shift Times: Various Salary: $15.15/hour | Grade: 10 Position Description Purpose: To provide support to the instructional process, ensuring the safety and welfare of students in support service areas such as noon duty coverage, AM/PM duty coverage, classroom assistance, crosswalk coverage and other campus needs. Essential Functions Assist students with safe access to and from assigned locations. Communicate safety and security policies to students, staff, and visitors, ensuring understanding of the consequences of violations. Maintain job‑related equipment (stop signs, jackets, sand bags, flags, etc.) to ensure availability of required items. Monitor individual and groups of students in various settings (classroom, playground, field trips, between periods, library, lunchroom, bus loading/unloading, etc.) to ensure compliance with guidelines and maintain a safe and positive learning environment. Monitor student behavior entering and exiting school grounds to ensure compliance and maintain a safe learning environment. Refer incidents (e.g., personal injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, rule violations) to appropriate personnel for follow‑up according to administrative, site security and student safety guidelines. Report observations and incidents relating to specific students (e.g., accidents, fights, inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, safety conditions) to appropriate personnel. Respond to inquiries from students and parents regarding campus security issues, providing information, direction and referral. Respond to a variety of situations (e.g., accidents, injuries) by taking appropriate action to resolve immediate safety or security concerns. Support classroom teachers and other school personnel in ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. Other Functions Participate in unit meetings, in‑service training, workshops, etc. to convey and/or gather required information. Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Adhering to safety practices; enforcing rules and regulations. Basic math; understanding written procedures; writing routine documents; speaking clearly; understanding complex multi‑step written & oral instructions. Safety practices, procedures & traffic laws knowledge. Ability to schedule activities; collate data; use basic job‑related equipment; work with others in various circumstances; operate equipment with defined methods. Problem solving to identify issues and create action plans; follow prescribed guidelines; display tact, courtesy, attentiveness to detail, maintain confidentiality. Responsibility: Work under direct supervision using standardized routines; provide information or advising others; continual opportunity to impact the organization’s services. Work Environment The job requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and fine finger dexterity. Body posture: approximately 40% sitting, 30% walking, 30% standing.
