Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to apply advanced HVAC skills to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medium to large complex heating and cooling systems and their associated control systems in industrial and large retail environments.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medium to large complex heating and cooling systems and associated control systems.
• Diagnose causes of equipment breakdowns using appropriate testing instruments and diagnostic tools.
• Test parts and components to identify faults and determine necessary repairs.
• Disassemble and reassemble HVAC equipment and associated components in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform field service work at customer sites, including industrial facilities and large retail locations.
• Install, service, and maintain rooftop HVAC units and related mechanical systems.
• Follow established safety procedures and best practices while working on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Document work performed, including diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance.
• Collaborate with other technicians and construction teams to support installation and service projects.
• Provide professional on-site customer service, ensuring systems operate reliably and efficiently.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the commercial HVAC field.
• Journeyman license in the commercial HVAC field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with complex HVAC systems.
• Proven troubleshooting skills for medium to large heating and cooling systems and control systems.
• Ability to diagnose equipment breakdowns using appropriate testing instruments.
• Experience disassembling and assembling HVAC equipment and associated components.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC service and field service work.
• Ability to work safely and effectively on rooftop units and related systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience supporting industrial HVAC systems.
• Experience working with HVAC systems in large retail or big box environments.
• Background in construction-related HVAC installation and service.
• Comfort working in a variety of field conditions, including rooftop and industrial settings.

Work Environment

The role primarily supports industrial facilities and large retail (big box) environments, providing field-based service work at customer sites. You work on medium to large HVAC systems, including rooftop units and associated control systems, in active operational settings. The position involves working on rooftops and in mechanical rooms, often requiring the use of standard HVAC tools, testing instruments, and safety equipment. Work hours typically align with standard field service schedules, with potential variability based on customer needs and project demands. Technicians are expected to follow site-specific safety protocols and dress appropriately for industrial and rooftop environments, including the use of required personal protective equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of GLEN BURNIE, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
