Project IT Manager I (Transmission P6)

Job Title: Project IT Manager I (Transmission P6) Location Requirements: Hybrid Job Type: Contract Role Overview: You will support early-stage development and planning of infrastructure projects across various areas including transmission, telecom, solar, and facilities. Working closely with business partners and internal teams, you will intake new work requests, clarify needs, define scope, gather financial details, coordinate estimates, and prepare projects for delivery. This role focuses on developing clearly defined, financially supported, and well-documented work requests to facilitate smooth handoff for implementation. You need to be highly organized, comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, and skilled in managing planning activities, meetings, follow-ups, and documentation. Responsibilities Partner with business partners and internal teams to intake new work requests, understand needs, clarify scope, and document requirements. Develop early project scope, assumptions, constraints, financial information, and planning details for project development. Coordinate preliminary estimates by gathering project data, requesting estimates from engineers or technical teams, reviewing responses, and resolving questions. Prepare and maintain labor, contingency, and financial planning information based on engineering inputs and project needs. Create JIRA Epics and Features, and related project records for work routing to regional teams. Use transmission’s P6 schedule and other systems to verify accounting data, review upcoming work, and align planning with schedules and timelines. Attend and participate in meetings with business partners, engineering teams, regional teams, and stakeholders. Track decisions, issues, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and action items; ensure follow-up after meetings. Maintain accurate project documentation, financial inputs, status updates, and handoff information in designated tools and systems. Support coordination across telecom, transmission, generation, solar, facilities, and regional IT teams to ensure project information is complete before work is assigned for delivery. Required Qualifications Project management, project coordination, business relationship, estimating, planning, or project development experience, preferably in infrastructure, utility, telecom, construction, facilities, generation, transmission, solar, or renewable energy. Demonstrated ability to gather business requirements, clarify scope, document assumptions, and coordinate work across multiple internal teams. Experience supporting project estimates, financial planning, budget inputs, labor planning, contingency planning, or related project controls activities. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work requests, meetings, follow-ups, and documentation simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly summarize project information for business partners, engineering teams, regional teams, and leadership. Experience planning, facilitating, or documenting project meetings, including decisions, risks, dependencies, action items, and follow-up activities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing competing priorities with attention to detail. Valid driver’s license. Willingness to attend in-office staff meetings every Tuesday morning in downtown St. Petersburg, FL. Commitment to work in the office three days per week, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays onsite in downtown St. Petersburg, FL.
