Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care in the emergency room environment, managing a diverse patient population with urgent and critical needs. Ensures timely intervention and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and assess patient conditions upon arrival to prioritize care based on acuity levels.
• Administer emergency medications, blood products, and IV therapies, including starting IVs and managing vasopressors.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, monitor patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, and perform procedural sedation.
• Maintain proficiency in phlebotomy, central line care, and infection control protocols such as isolation precautions.
• Document patient care accurately within the Epic electronic health record system.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop appropriate treatment plans.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid state RN license and have at least one year of ER nursing experience.
• Possess current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS.
• Demonstrate competency in phlebotomy and IV placement as required for the role.
• Have experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and emergency medications.
• Maintain flexibility to float across adult and pediatric Emergency Department units.
• Be able to work night shifts and every other weekend.
