We teach piano, voice, guitar, and all orchestral instruments. Ensembles include Choirs, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra, Humboldt Symphony, Percussion Ensembles, Jazz Combos, and Chamber Ensembles. See the Theatre Program website for more information: Courses/Areas of Specialization Dance courses offered by the department include Modern, Ballet, Jazz, African Dance, Tap Dance, Dance Science, Choreography, Mexican Folklórico, Middle Eastern Dance and more. Music courses offered by the department include Listening to the Movies, Music Appreciation, Ensembles, studio lessons, Music Theory, Ear Training, Music in World Culture, Music History, and others. An earned M.F.A. in an appropriate field will be given preference. Experience : Successful teaching experience at the college level and/or professional work experience related to the appropriate field is required . Preference will be given to those who can provide evidence of teaching effectiveness via evaluation of supervisors or colleagues, the ability to work within the program and stated goals of the Department of Dance, Music, and Theatre. Music Degree : For most Music courses, a Bachelor's degree with advanced-level studies relevant to the courses being taught is required. Salary: Dependent on qualifications and experience. The full-time (15 weighted teaching units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules below are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six (6) monthly payments for each full semester.
