The Technology Support Specialist works under the direction of the Technology Director and assists TCA staff members with the timely resolution of problems. The Technology Support Specialist installs, configures, and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems and provides technical assistance and training to system users. The Technology Support Specialist answers client's inquiries concerning systems operation; diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems; recommends or performs remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation; and ensures all TCA technology related equipment is kept in fully functional operating condition. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Technology Director The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and do not include other non-essential or marginal duties that may be required. The description may not include all functions performed by incumbents in various locations. - Resolves work order requests submitted by TCA faculty and staff in a timely manner
- Provides support for hardware and software, system security, and client-server support and services
- Coordinates and schedules the installation of new user workstations and is responsible for adds, moves, and changes of existing technology resources
- Provides for installation and support of classroom Audio Visual resources to include monitors, projectors, TVs, media players, and document cameras
- Maintains accuracy of inventory records for school technology resources
- Updates documentation for network performance and support services
- Assists school administrators and building coaches with student management applications and issues to include activities to install/update versions as well as maintenance and troubleshooting routines
- Installs hardware and software in classrooms and school offices
- Assists as technical point of contact for school related internet and intranet services, in-house or off-site
- Assists with the support, coordination, and transfer of information between disparate school databases and assists with resolving access and integration issues with all school related data
- Aids computer instructors and librarians in the upkeep and maintenance of student use computers in the lab and library environments
- Assists school personnel to use technology in school operation to the degree of maximum benefit
- Distributes software to the staff and faculty under the direction of the Technology Director
- Makes repairs on hardware and/or coordinates and schedules with outside vendors as applicable
- Carries and responds to a mobile communication device for the purpose of conducting school-related business
- Attends ongoing training and meetings as required in order to remain up to date on network policy, procedure, and performance
- Participates in school level Educational Technology and Information Literacy (ET/IL) meetings
- Performs other duties as required
- Bachelor's Degree in technology related field preferred
- Professional certifications (A+, MCP, etc.) strongly recommended
- Background with help desk/computer related support required
- Experience in computer fields/general computer technology, preferably in an educational setting
- Experience working with/troubleshooting Audio/Visual equipment used in classroom settings
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must possess an acceptable driving record
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with hardware and software
- Strong customer service skills and an ability to maintain a positive, professional, working attitude
- Ability to be highly responsive to operational needs and provide superb customer service to meet client needs in a timely manner
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work with limited supervision to resolve IT issues
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, administrators, staff, faculty, and students
- Exhibits caring attitude toward students
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work in groups and as a team member

- MEDICAL INSURANCE: There are three options for Medical coverage, including an HSA option; as well as access to OneMedical for eligible staff members who elect a TCA Medical plan. The Classical Academy (TCA) makes a monthly contribution toward your medical premiums as an employee.
- DENTAL INSURANCE: Dental insurance is offered through Delta Dental of Colorado. TCA makes a monthly contribution toward the premium for this benefit
- LIFE INSURANCE/LTD: Employees are provided a $25,000 group term life insurance through The Standard Life Insurance Company and offers Long-term Disability coverage as well. TCA pays the full cost of group term life insurance and long-term disability benefits. Accident and hospital indemnity plans are also available to employees through The Standard, for an additional cost.
- RETIRMENT PLAN: Administered by Colorado PERA, this is a tax deferred retirement account to which you contribute 11% of your monthly earnings. TCA contributes 20.9% to the PERA pension trust fund on your behalf.
- VOLUNTARY VISION INSURANCE: EyeMed is the voluntary vision program available to TCA employees.
- WELLNESS PROGRAM: A voluntary wellness program though Orriant is offered in which employees are eligible to earn an incentive of up to $150 for participation AND achievement of wellness activity goals
- RETIREMENT OPTIONS: Employees may elect to participate in deferred income for retirement purposes: PERA Plus 401(k) through Empower
- MEDICAL and DEPENDENT CARE FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT: This account allows employees to save money for unreimbursed medical expenses or dependent care expenses to be used within the plan year (July to June) on a tax-exempt basis. This reduces your taxable income.
- TIME OFF COMPENSATION: A n employee with 0.5 to 1.0 FTE will receive Staff Leave and Personal Leave. For positions less than 1.0 FTE, leave time will be prorated based on FTE. Our leave program is fully compliant with the Colorado Healthy Families Workplace Act.
- PRIORITY ENROLLMENT STATUS: Children of staff members 0.4 FTE and above receive priority enrollment of their child/children at The Classical Academy.
