SharePoint Support Specialist

The Information Technology Division provides hardware and software support for all central staff and Council Member's staff located at City Hall and within the five boroughs of New York City. Information Technology also oversees and manages all aspects of computer operations, including network systems administration, network security, helpdesk support and overall maintenance of Council's Local Area (LAN) and Wide Area (WAN) Networks.


We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Support Specialist to work with the team in the Information Technology Division.


SALARY RANGE:


$90,000 to $120,000


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint Online sites, pages, libraries, lists, and workflows to support departmental and organizational operations.
• Create intuitive, user-friendly layouts, navigation structures, and document management solutions that enhance collaboration and efficiency.
• Build, manage, and maintain forms, dashboards, and automated workflows using SharePoint Online, Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps), and other Microsoft 365 applications.
• Administer SharePoint permissions, security groups, and access controls in accordance with organizational security standards.
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for computer hardware, software applications, and end-user systems.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, implementing comprehensive solutions to restore system functionality.
• Deliver timely, effective technical support to internal and external users, including remote staff and multiple office locations.
• Adhere to established IT policies, procedures, problem management protocols, and documentation standards.
• Demonstrate a structured, analytical, and disciplined approach to troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Travel to office locations throughout the five boroughs of New York City approximately 25% of the time.
• Work a five-day schedule that includes Saturdays and Sundays.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid New York State driver's license.
• Three to five years of experience in a Help Desk or technical support role.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows 11, Microsoft 365 (Office 365), Windows Active Directory, and enterprise IT support environments.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN troubleshooting, DNS, DHCP, VOIP systems, Citrix environments, Wi-Fi, printers, and mobile device support.
• Experience supporting macOS environments is a plus.
