Clinical Nurse III: Critical Care Float Pool 36 hour/week, Days

About the Role The Clinical Nurse in the Critical Care Float Pool provides comprehensive nursing care across multiple critical care units, including Neuro‑Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU, MSICU, Emergency Department, and neuro‑progressive care areas. This role supports LevelI trauma center operations and ensures high‑quality patient care. Responsibilities Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local, state, and federal rules and regulations. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ conditions. Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care rendered. Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions. Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non‑occupational injuries and illnesses. Administer over‑the‑counter and prescription medications as ordered. Collaborate with the nursing team to create a plan of care for all patients. Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing. Qualifications Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a diploma, associate degree or baccalaureate degree is conferred. Must hold a current NYS Registered Nurse license. Obtain and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Minimum of 1–3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med‑Surg or Progressive Care. Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational and time‑management skills. Possess knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem‑solving tools and techniques and demonstrate ability to apply them in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
