Job Description

Ohana Pet Hospital is searching for experienced veterinarian to lead our team as Medical Director. We have four locations in Ventura, Agoura Hills and Santa Paula; with this role focusing on our Santa Paula team. This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling (Monday-Saturday, ideally four days each week, but open to alternative scheduling).\n

\nWe are an AAHA accredited, progressive companion animal general practice that focuses on training and developing our teams' individual needs. We have a wonderful team of friendly, compassionate doctors and staff. Our mission is " To provide compassionate care for our Ohana - our Family ," which includes our patients, clients, teammates, animal rescue partners, vendors, community, and environment. This is reflected in our culture of a family feel with both staff and clients.\n

Our Hospital: \n

  • Multi-doctor team (12 at Ventura and 3 at Santa Paula)
  • \n
  • General medicine and surgery for dogs and cats
  • \n
  • Talented technician team, including 7 RVTs
  • \n
  • Urgent care (same day appointments and emergencies)

  • Ultrasonography
  • \n
  • Dentistry (with digital dental x-ray)

  • Limited exotics medicine (reptiles, rabbits, pocket pets)

  • Rehabilitation medicine, acupuncture, and holistic medicine

  • Full-time doctors work 3-4 shifts per week

  • 3 pillars: client education, supporting rescues, and being eco-friendly

Ideal Candidate: \n

  • Passion for animals and helping people
  • \n

  • 5+ years of general practice and/or emergency receiving experience
  • \n
  • Demonstrates exceptional leadership skills (prior Medical Director experience is a plug)
  • \n
  • In addition to high-quality medicine and surgical skills, we are looking for doctors with excellent client communication and customer service skills as well as a dedication to teaching staff
  • \n
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and staying on top of the latest industry developments/tools
  • \n
  • We require a valid California veterinary license and ability to obtain a DEA license
  • \n

Qualifications: \n
\n
    \n
  • 5+ years of veterinarian experience. Medical Director experience is a plus, but not required.
  • \n
  • DVM or VMD
  • \n
  • We require a valid California veterinary license and ability to obtain a DEA license
  • \n
  • In addition to high-quality medicine and surgical skills, we are looking for doctors with excellent client communication and customer service skills as well as a dedication to continued education.

\nOur salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. The salary range for this opportunity is $130,000 - $165,000 annually. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location. You will be provided more detailed information about compensation and benefits for your specific location. Where required under applicable law, the company provides eligible employees with paid sick leave, health emergency leave, and similar benefits programs, all in accordance with the requirements of state and local law depending on the location of the practice you support.\n
