Fraud Analyst

Extract, transform, and analyze large-scale fraud data using SAS, SQL, Python, and related analytical tools Analyze enterprise fraud performance across deposits, digital, payments, authentication, and account lifecycle domains Evaluate fraud decisioning performance, alert effectiveness, decision outcomes, false positives, workflow execution, and queue dynamics Assess end-to-end fraud operations, including alert lifecycle performance, queue throughput, review capacity, case-handling efficiency, and workload distribution Develop and apply fraud tradeoff, loss avoidance, and performance measurement frameworks Engineer, maintain, and enhance methodologies measuring fraud benefit, losses avoided, operational costs, customer friction, false positives, and business impact Conduct advanced and ad hoc analytics, root-cause investigations, and performance assessments Monitor fraud trends, alert behavior, decision outcomes, operational performance, anomalies, and control effectiveness Quantify benefits, costs, risks, operational impacts, and tradeoffs for fraud initiatives, tools, models, and enhancements Partner with Fraud Strategy, Fraud Mitigation Solutions, Risk, Operations, Digital, Technology, and AI/ML teams Support predictive fraud, AI, and analytics initiatives through performance assessment and benefit tracking Develop and maintain performance metrics, dashboards, reporting frameworks, and executive-level insights Translate complex analytical findings into actionable, executive-ready recommendations Validate assumptions, strengthen measurement frameworks, and deliver decision-ready insights Use approved AI-enabled productivity tools responsibly and in compliance with company policies Develop and deliver data-driven insights and narratives Maintain regulatory compliance, internal controls, and risk management standards Requirements Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience Typically more than eight years of applicable experience Comprehensive knowledge of all departmental data sources and fraud risk and operations management associated with the product lines Strong analytical skills for evaluating fraud prevention infrastructure and forecasting fraud loss trends Strong project management skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Proficient computer navigation skills using Microsoft Office applications and data analysis software Must work from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week Not eligible for current or future visa sponsorship Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and workplace conduct and safety policies Core Competencies Expertise in fraud data analysis and performance measurement, utilizing SAS, SQL, and Python to drive actionable insights and enhance fraud prevention strategies.
