This role performs a range of administrative and customer service tasks, providing valuable support to the hospital. Position Overview Join our team as a Care Coordinator who contributes to the success of a high‑performing organization committed to delivering superior care and exceptional service. This position aligns closely with roles often titled Veterinary Receptionist, Customer Service Representative, or Client Care Specialist. Phoenix Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center in Phoenix, Arizona is a 24/7, 365‑day specialty and emergency hospital serving as a seamless extension of primary care veterinarians for pets across the greater Phoenix area. The team includes experienced emergency veterinarians and a board‑certified surgical specialist who perform advanced procedures with expertise and compassion — and they are committed to keeping primary care veterinarians informed every step of the way. Key Responsibilities Provides excellent customer service in person, over the phone, and during high‑stress situations. Manages lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments. Handles basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and well‑being. Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products. Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts. Assists with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records. Reconciles cash drawer and performs end‑of‑day duties for accurate financial transactions. Qualifications Prior veterinary or emergency office experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient with practice management software and Microsoft Office. Ability to remain calm and professional in high‑pressure situations. Schedule Full Time, Swing Shift. Thursday, Friday, Saturday 2 PM–12 AM (must be able to work holidays).
