Manager Of Fleet

: The purpose of the class is to direct, plan, manage, and supervise the programs for acquisition, utilization, maintenance, repairs, replacement, and disposal of fleet vehicles and equipment. This class works within broad policy and organizational guidelines and does independent planning and implementation, reporting progress of major activities through periodic conferences and meetings, to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental and safety requirements and regulations at County garage and fuel sites. This position also performs fuel site management at six County fueling sites as well as reviewing all County department budget requests for annual vehicles, fuel, and maintenance spending. The Fleet Manager oversees the Richland County fleet maintenance operations which is contracted to a vendor including 20 technicians, management and support staff. The annual contract exceeds $2.5 million. Requires Bachelor's degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in business, management, public administration, fleet management, or a closely related field. Requires seven years of experience. Must possess a valid state driver's license. Designation as a Certified Fleet Manager is desirable. Hiring Range for this position: $72,362.29 - $90,370.59
