About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Level 1 trauma experience - Experience with high acuity orthopedic patients - Proficient in giving blood products - Experience with mobility assistance Description: Provide post-operative care for orthopedic trauma patients. Responsible for managing overflow surgeries, including various specialties from gynecological to ophthalmological. Manage a high volume of patient admissions with significant turnover. Required to deliver blood products and assist with patient mobility. Patient care includes total joint replacements, ORIF for fractures, laminectomies, hand surgeries, bladder suspensions, and other procedures. Experience with teaching and trauma level 1 care is essential. Floating between units may be required to meet facility needs. Ability to manage surgical drains and PCA devices is necessary. Understand isolation precautions and wound care, including the use of wound vacs. On-call shifts are required on 1-2 weekdays and 2 weekends during the contract duration. Weekend shifts will need to be covered as part of the regular schedule.
