Summary

The Business Development Director is a pivotal role responsible for driving growth and expanding market presence. This high-impact position involves executing strategic business development plans, identifying new opportunities, and fostering strong relationships with clients to achieve revenue targets and enhance market share.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with DSV’s goals.
• Identify target markets, industries, and potential clients through market analysis.
• Prospect, research, and identify potential clients via networking, cold calls, and market research.
• Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their logistics needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and proposals.
• Conduct market assessments and feasibility studies for potential clients.
• Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
• Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and contracts that are profitable and sustainable.
• Set revenue targets and sales goals for business development initiatives.
• Monitor performance, track progress, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Develop and execute strategies to exceed revenue and growth targets.
• Work closely with operations, marketing, and other internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Align solutions with client needs and company objectives for maximum impact.

Educational background / Work experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
• 7 years of experience in account management or business development within the supply chain or logistics industry is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and drive profitability.
• Proven experience in account management and leadership roles.
• Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and industry best practices.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute complex account plans.
• Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.

Language skills

• Fluency in English is required.

Computer Literacy

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
