Protective Services Worker

Overview As a Protective Services Worker, you'll investigate reports of elder abuse and self-neglect, provide consultations, and make referrals. Your role includes assessing elders’ needs, risks, and decision-making capacity, and delivering short-term, goal-focused casework and counseling. You'll ensure accurate documentation in Harmony APS software and adhere to protective service regulations and agency policies. Responsibilities Handle cases of elder abuse and self-neglect, consulting with the supervisor as needed. Complete comprehensive assessments within 30 days; respond to emergency reports within 5 hours, rapid responses within 24 hours, and non-emergency reports within 5 days. Evaluate elders\' capacity to consent to services. Contact relevant individuals and consult with your supervisor regularly. Document risk assessments, case status, and service plans accurately. Develop and implement service plans with elder consent, matching services to their needs. Enter and update service plans in APS promptly. Participate in 24-hour on-call coverage and manage intakes efficiently. Represent the agency at external meetings and contribute to community education. Stay updated on EOEA regulations and participate in required trainings. Protect clients’ Personal Health Information and report any breaches. Adhere to all state, federal, and agency regulations. Qualifications Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, or gerontology with 1 year of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in a related field. Experience with elders preferred; sensitivity to elder issues required. Strong assessment, advocacy, and client empowerment skills. Knowledge of Home Care, MassHealth Programs, and gerontology issues preferred. Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in Microsoft Office and typing. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr Ami Network
