Location: Plymouth, Michigan
Employment: Full-Time, Salaried
Base Salary: $60,000–$75,000 annually, depending on experience

About the Position

We are seeking a mechanically inclined, technically capable individual to join our team installing and supporting commercial laser tag and miniature golf equipment at entertainment facilities throughout the United States and around the world.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys traveling, working with their hands, solving technical problems, and seeing projects through from start to finish.

Approximately 60% of the position involves traveling to customer locations to install, configure, and commission our equipment. Most installations take approximately 4–5 days, including travel. Installations are generally performed independently, although larger projects may involve a two-person team.

When not traveling, the technician works at our Plymouth, Michigan facility providing technical support, repairing laser tag equipment, designing arenas, product design improvements, and preparing equipment for upcoming installations.

This is an ideal position for a resourceful, self-motivated individual who enjoys variety and takes pride in solving problems.

Key Responsibilities

Field Installation — Approximately 60%

• Travel throughout the United States, Canada, and internationally to install commercial laser tag systems and electronic equipment for miniature golf attractions.
• Install, configure, and commission laser tag equipment, including computers, wireless networking equipment, charging systems, and related electronics.
• Install electronic control systems, sensors, lighting, wiring, and other components in existing miniature golf attractions.
• Route and conceal low-voltage wiring through existing miniature golf props, structures, and obstacles while maintaining a clean, professional appearance.
• Mount and connect electronic components, power supplies, control boards, and associated equipment.
• Perform basic mechanical modifications when necessary to accommodate wiring and electronic components.
• Configure software, computers, and network connections associated with the installed equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, and communication problems encountered during installation.
• Test and commission completed systems to verify reliable operation.
• Train customer personnel in equipment operation, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
• Independently manage most installation assignments, typically lasting 4–5 days including travel.
• Work alongside another technician on larger installations.
• Communicate professionally with customers and coordinate with contractors or facility personnel when necessary.

Technical Support & Equipment Repair — Approximately 40%

Between installation assignments, work at our Plymouth, Michigan facility to:

• Diagnose and repair laser tag vests, phasers, charging systems, and related electronics.
• Troubleshoot electronic circuit boards, wiring, connectors, batteries, and other components.
• Perform equipment repairs and component replacement using common hand tools and electronic test equipment.
• Provide telephone and remote technical support to customers.
• Assist customers with networking, computer configuration, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Test repaired equipment and verify proper operation.
• Prepare, assemble, and test equipment for upcoming installations.
• Design laser tag arenas using SolidWorks CAD.
• Assist with product design improvements.
• Assist with other technical and production-related projects as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and equipment.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and electronics.
• Comfortable using computers, installing software, and troubleshooting basic networking issues.
• Ability to diagnose technical problems logically and independently.
• Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions, diagrams, and installation procedures.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport and meet applicable international travel requirements.
• Ability to enter Canada for business purposes when required.
• Willingness to travel approximately 60% of the time.
• Ability to work regularly at our Plymouth, Michigan facility when not traveling.

Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following areas is helpful but not required:

• Field service or equipment installation
• Electronics repair and troubleshooting
• Low-voltage wiring and electrical systems
• Computer networking and Wi-Fi configuration
• Arcade, amusement, or commercial entertainment equipment
• Mechanical assembly and equipment maintenance
• Soldering and circuit board repair
• Conceptual design
• Customer-facing technical support

Previous laser tag or miniature golf experience is not required. Training on our equipment and installation procedures will be provided.

Travel Expectations

Travel is an important and enjoyable part of this position for the right candidate.

• Approximately 60% domestic and international travel.
• Typical installation assignments last 4–5 days, including travel.
• Most installations are completed by one technician working independently.
• Larger installations may require two technicians.
• Some assignments may involve weekends or longer stays, depending on project requirements.
• When not traveling, the employee works at our Plymouth, Michigan facility.

This is not a remote position. Candidates must live within commuting distance of Plymouth, Michigan, or be willing to relocate.

• Annual Base Salary: $60,000–$75,000, based on qualifications and experience.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who enjoys fixing things, understands how mechanical and electrical systems work, and is comfortable learning new technology.

You might have experience installing equipment, repairing electronics, working on automotive electrical systems, servicing arcade machines, or maintaining industrial equipment.

If you have experience with low-voltage cable routing, wire termination, and basic computer networking, you might be a good fit.

You don't necessarily need an advanced degree. Practical skills, common sense, dependability, and the ability to troubleshoot problems are what matter most.

You should be comfortable traveling independently, interacting with customers, and taking responsibility for completing an installation successfully.

Equally important, you must enjoy hands-on technical specialist work at our Plymouth facility between installation assignments.
