Salary: $92,040 - 174,840 per year Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience developing production APIs with Python and FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar frameworks.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, service boundaries, validation schemas, async clients, structured error handling, and integrations with internal and external systems.
• Practical knowledge of security-focused engineering, including authentication and authorization, OAuth/OIDC, JWT/JWKS, secure sessions, encryption, PII handling, secrets management, dependency hygiene, and least-privilege practices.
• Experience with relational data modeling, SQL, migrations, SQLAlchemy or comparable ORM patterns, and production-safe database updates.
• Working knowledge of React, TypeScript, modern routing, form handling, API clients, component systems, responsive interfaces, and accessibility standards.
• Ability to create and maintain unit, integration, end-to-end, accessibility, and regression tests, and to use CI feedback to raise code quality.
• Comfort using Git, pull requests, code review, GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools, environment configuration, and release troubleshooting.
• Ability to collaborate directly with stakeholders, clarify ambiguous needs, document decisions, mentor less experienced developers, and work independently in an enterprise setting.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful ownership of production web applications.
• 5+ years of hands-on Python backend development in production or production-like environments.
• 5+ years working with React and TypeScript, or equivalent experience maintaining and extending a mature React single-page application.
• Demonstrated experience delivering API-driven systems with authentication, persistence, testing, and operational support.
• Prior enterprise or public-sector experience is helpful, especially where security, accessibility, documentation, and change control matter.
• 2+ years of technical leadership, mentoring, code review, or delivery guidance is preferred, though heavy people management is not expected.

• Maintain and enhance the FastAPI backend, including API routes, service boundaries, request correlation, configuration, health checks, metrics, and telemetry ingestion.
• Support the BFF authentication model with OIDC-based login, server-side sessions, secure cookies, protected-route dependencies, and token validation.
• Build and maintain backend integrations for headless Drupal preview and protected content, public alerts, notification preferences, contact data, external alerting systems, and future Salesforce workflows.
• Own database-related application changes using SQLModel, SQLAlchemy, Alembic migrations, async repositories, MySQL/RDS compatibility, idempotent background jobs, and production-safe schema rollout practices.
• Maintain the React/Vite/TypeScript frontend, including routing, authenticated user experiences, public disaster recovery workflows, content rendering, React Query data access, and React Hook Form forms.
• Preserve the governed design-system boundary, including Radix-based primitives, design tokens, generated CSS/Tailwind/Drupal token outputs, WCAG 2.1 AA behavior, and accessibility testing.
• Keep testing and quality gates healthy across Pytest, Vitest, Playwright, axe checks, ESLint, Ruff, TypeScript, bundle validation, CodeQL, dependency review, and npm audit.
• Participate in release and operations work, including GitHub Actions workflows, blue/green frontend releases, backend image deployments, migration runs, runbooks, logs, metrics, and incident troubleshooting.
• Document implementation choices, integration contracts, operational assumptions, and handoff notes so the portal stays maintainable for the wider team.
• Collaborate with product, security, infrastructure, Drupal/content, identity, and operations stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, production-ready software.
• Help customers and internal partners evaluate and adapt application approaches, troubleshoot cross-system issues, and choose between multiple application options when needed.
