Digital Forensics Consultant Location: Irvine, CA or Remote, US Schedule: Fractional / As Needed Basis Responsibilities Conduct forensic investigations on data collection practices, focusing on cookies, pixels, and other tracking technologies. Collaborate with law firms to analyze and provide expert insights on data collection processes involved in lawsuits. Prepare detailed forensic reports. Review and assess the legality of data captured by organizations, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and consent requirements. Stay updated on evolving privacy laws, regulations, and best practices related to data collection and tracking technologies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Extensive experience in digital forensics, with a focus on data privacy and compliance. Strong understanding of cookies, pixels, and other web tracking technologies, and how they collect and store data. Knowledge of relevant privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and others related to consent for data collection. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to dissect complex data collection processes and identify potential legal issues. Experience working with legal teams on cases involving data privacy and security is preferred. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
