Human Resources (HR) Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Specialist to support leave administration for a wholesale distribution organization in Chesterfield, Missouri. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for an HR specialist who is comfortable managing high-volume employee cases, maintaining accurate records, and providing clear guidance throughout the leave process. The role requires a detail-oriented approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with payroll and HR partners to ensure employees receive timely and accurate support.Responsibilities:• Manage employee leave cases from intake through resolution, overseeing eligibility, timelines, and status updates across company leave programs.• Serve as a primary point of contact for employees, answering questions and explaining leave procedures, documentation needs, and next steps.• Maintain complete and accurate records by reviewing submitted paperwork, updating case details, and organizing leave-related documentation.• Prepare clear correspondence, notices, and agreements associated with employee leave requests and approvals.• Partner with payroll and human resources teams to help ensure correct pay treatment, benefits handling, and employee status updates during leave periods.• Monitor outstanding forms and certifications, following up as needed to keep cases moving and aligned with policy requirements.• Support compliance by applying established leave guidelines consistently and documenting actions with a high level of accuracy.• Assist with administrative tasks related to leave tracking and reporting in HR and payroll systems.
