Title
Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit

Schedule
- Shift: 12-hour nights - 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Weekend requirement: every other or every third weekend required

Requirements
- License: Valid state or compact license required
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year recent Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown experience
- Skills:
- Telemetry/PCU monitoring experience
- Vascular access: peripheral IVs, PICC/central line care
- Wound/burn care and post-op flap monitoring (including familiarity with leech therapy)
- Medication administration (including titratable drips)
- Dysrhythmia recognition/management and use of rapid response/code teams
- Non-invasive airway support and oxygen therapy

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a progressive care unit setting.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, telemetry, and overall condition, responding to changes as necessary.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement patient care strategies.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and care plans.
- Document patient care activities and interventions accurately using electronic medical records.

Compliance / Notes
- Fingerprinting is required immediately after signing the contract.
- References: 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be a manager or director.
- COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only).
