Secure Net Alliance is seeking dependable, professional, and highly observant Unarmed Security Officers for a large luxury residential community located near the University of Southern California (USC).

The property primarily serves USC students while also housing families and residents from a variety of backgrounds. Officers must be comfortable working in a busy residential environment and interacting professionally with residents, guests, vendors, management, and emergency personnel.

We are currently seeking:

• Full-Time Officers
• Part-Time Officers
• On-Call / Flex Officers

Shifts Available: Day, Swing & Graveyard

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

• Possess a valid California BSIS Guard Card
• Be reliable and consistently report to work on time
• Have reliable transportation
• Maintain a professional appearance
• Communicate clearly and professionally
• Be capable of writing clear security and incident reports
• Be comfortable interacting with residents, students, families, guests, vendors, and property management
• Be willing and able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods depending on assigned duties
• Be able to patrol multiple areas of a large residential property
• Be willing to work weekends and holidays when scheduled
• Be flexible with scheduling when operationally necessary

Scheduling & Coverage Expectations

Flexibility and reliability are essential for this assignment.

Officers must understand that residential security operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Employees may be required to:

• Cover additional shifts when available and operationally necessary
• Adjust between Day, Swing, and Graveyard assignments based on scheduling needs
• Remain on duty beyond their scheduled shift when properly required due to an unexpected call-off or coverage emergency
• Work mandatory overtime when assigned in accordance with company policy and applicable law
• Remain at their assigned post until properly relieved
• Communicate immediately with supervision regarding emergencies or circumstances affecting their ability to complete an assignment

Officers may not abandon their post simply because their scheduled shift has ended if required relief has not arrived. Officers must immediately contact supervision and follow company instructions regarding relief and continued coverage.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Access Control & Resident Services

• Monitor and control access to designated entrances and restricted areas.
• Verify residents, guests, vendors, delivery personnel, and other visitors when required.
• Follow property procedures regarding guest access, visitor registration, deliveries, contractors, and vendors.
• Maintain awareness of individuals entering and exiting the property.
• Provide professional assistance and direction to residents and guests.
• Enforce property access policies consistently and professionally.

Patrol & Property Security

• Conduct routine foot patrols throughout assigned areas.
• Patrol residential floors, common areas, parking areas, stairwells, elevators, entrances, exits, and other designated locations.
• Identify unsecured doors, damaged property, safety hazards, suspicious activity, and policy violations.
• Maintain awareness of potential trespassing, theft, vandalism, disturbances, unauthorized gatherings, and other security concerns.
• Document patrols and observations according to company and client procedures.

Incident Response

• Respond promptly to resident complaints, disturbances, suspicious persons, noise complaints, access-control issues, and other security-related calls.
• De-escalate situations professionally whenever reasonably possible.
• Contact supervisors, property management, law enforcement, fire personnel, or emergency medical services when appropriate.
• Maintain professionalism during confrontational or stressful situations.
• Preserve relevant information and evidence following serious incidents.
• Complete accurate, detailed, and timely incident reports.

Emergency & Life-Safety Responsibilities

Officers may be expected to assist with:

• Fire alarms
• Medical emergencies
• Evacuations
• Elevator-related incidents
• Power outages
• Water leaks or flooding
• Building access emergencies
• Missing or lost property reports
• Welfare concerns
• Other property emergencies

Officers must know and follow the property’s emergency procedures and established chain of command.

Professional Conduct

Because officers work directly around residents and their homes, professionalism is critical.

Officers are expected to:

• Treat every resident and guest respectfully and consistently.
• Remain alert and attentive while on duty.
• Stay at their assigned post unless conducting assigned duties, properly relieved, or directed otherwise by supervision.
• Avoid excessive personal phone use or other distractions.
• Never sleep while on duty.
• Maintain professional boundaries with residents.
• Avoid favoritism or selective enforcement of property policies.
• Protect confidential resident and property information.
• Follow all Secure Net Alliance policies, client post orders, and supervisor instructions.

Physical Requirements

Depending on assignment, officers must be able to:

• Stand for extended periods
• Sit for extended periods
• Walk for extended periods
• Conduct repeated foot patrols
• Navigate stairs, elevators, parking structures, residential floors, and common areas
• Respond promptly to incidents occurring throughout the property

Attendance Is Critical

This is a 24/7 residential security operation. One officer calling off or arriving late can directly impact another officer’s ability to leave their post.

Applicants with a history of excessive tardiness, frequent call-offs, leaving assignments without authorization, or poor schedule reliability should not apply.
