Our hospital is also honored with awards for cardiac surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and excellence in women's services by Healthgrades and Newsweek.The Health Advocate works with team members in the development and operation of health and related activities that focus primarily on low-income and English-as-a-second language communities. The Health Advocate is bilingual English/Spanish and demonstrates not only linguistic competence in both languages but also cultural competency and advocacy in his/her activities. The Health Advocate takes the lead in community outreach, health education and advocacy. The Health Advocate assumes increased responsibility and acts independently (within the team framework) in the development of program strategies goals, programs, and outcomes within the overall department plan. Advocate engages community members in developing their leadership abilities. Degree from another country is valid or equivalent education/experience.Work experience related to program assessment, planning, development and evaluation.Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request.
