WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) for an Emergency Department assignment beginning December 1, 2026 . This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Emergency Medicine PA who can provide coverage across two nearby emergency departments and is available for a mix of day, evening, and overnight shifts.

• Start Date: December 1, 2026
• Coverage Type: Emergency Department
• Provider Type: PA-C only
• Commitment: 6 12 shifts per month
• Schedule: Monday Sunday 7a 7p, 10a 10p, 1p 11p, and 7p 7a
• Setting: Emergency Department with a focus on lower-acuity patients
• Geographic Requirement: Must be local enough to drive to the assignment
• EMR: Epic
  
  
• Night Coverage: Providers must be willing to work night shifts

The provider will see a wide variety of Emergency Department patients, with the majority of cases being lower acuity. Typical responsibilities include patient evaluation and treatment, radiology review, and review of laboratory results as needed. Some administrative and clinical support responsibilities may also be required, including assisting with triage and/or ED technician duties when needed.

Typical patient volume is approximately 1 2 patients per hour per provider per shift . A physician is present in the department overnight, providing additional clinical support.

• Physician Assistant (PA-C) PAs only
• Active Pennsylvania PA license
• Emergency Department experience required
• Stroke-certified experience/facility requirements
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification must remain current annually
• Annual Stroke CME required
• EMTALA education required
• Must be willing and able to work overnight shifts
• Must be local enough to drive in

The provider may be scheduled at two emergency department locations within the region , with the secondary location utilizing a 10a 10p shift.

The hospital has 24/7 trauma coverage, with additional specialty support available through a broad range of on-call services. Crisis counselors are also available in the ED for psychiatric evaluations.

Travel support may be available for eligible providers, including mileage for personal vehicle use, lodging, parking, rental car and fuel, and ground transportation.
