HVAC Technician - American HVAC Corp - New York

We are looking for an experienced HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of hands-on HVAC experience and be skilled in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial and/or residential heating and cooling systems. This role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, professionalism, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues (cooling and heating)
• Repair and service HVAC equipment including: Rooftop units (RTU) Mini Split systems Package units Heat Pumps
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and seasonal tune-ups
• Replace parts such as: Motors, belts, contactors, capacitors, sensors, relays, boards
• Check refrigerant pressures, superheat/subcooling, and system performance
• Perform startup and shutdown procedures safely and correctly
• Complete service reports and communicate job updates to management/customer
• Maintain clean, organized work practices and protect customer property
• Follow safety standards, company policies, and jobsite rules at all times

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years HVAC Technician experience (Required)
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical HVAC problems
• Strong knowledge of refrigerant systems and controls
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Valid driver's license (clean driving record preferred)
• Must have own hand tools (company may provide specialty tools)
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work on rooftops
