Transfer Credit Coordinator

Goodwin University

Position Summary The Transfer Credit Coordinator works with faculty, the Registrar, and Program Directors/Deans to determine if and how traditional academic coursework and experiential learning will transfer to Goodwin University. The Coordinator may also determine how transfer credit can substitute to satisfy degree and certificate requirements for current and prospective students. Essential Responsibilities Receive and review transcripts, determine course equivalencies and substitute courses, and input data for Competency-Based Education (CBE) grading. Review both official and unofficial collegiate transcripts and confirm school/program accreditation acceptance in accordance with university policy. Manage, evaluate, and process transfer credits for current and prospective students, including those with military transcripts and students changing academic programs. Process program changes and collaborate with academic program directors regarding undocumented course equivalencies. Manage, evaluate, and process data to produce accurate transcripts for internal and external use while adhering to institutional and federal procedures and policies. Create, maintain, and update the university’s inventory of transfer credits by utilizing the articulation database for transfer course information and equivalent course data (TES database). Develop and manage the degree audit system to ensure accuracy and compliance in posting transfer credits. Create Academic Planning Documents based on the academic catalog. Other Functions Run specific reports. Assist with departmental calendar planning and executing specific processes. Perform similar or related work as departmental needs arise. Assist with graduation processes as needed. Engage in continuous professional development and training to remain up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry trends. Ability to prioritize tasks and remain organized in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and under tight deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records and related documents. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and TES. Basic knowledge of College Board and Colleague systems. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Ability to work independently while maintaining a high degree of accuracy with many detail‑oriented tasks.
