Safety & Soundness Bank Examiner

Overview Federal Reserve Bank of St.Louis is looking for Bank Examiners to support the Safety & Soundness unit. The role conducts community and regional bank examinations and bank holding company inspections. The position can be based in St.Louis, MO, Louisville, KY, or Memphis, TN. Travel Requirement Overnight travel is required, approximately 50 nights per year, representing 20-30% of workdays. Travel is primarily by vehicle but may involve some air travel. Responsibilities Evaluate the soundness of an organization's financial condition, including capital, asset quality, earnings, liquidity and exposure to interest rate risk. Assess the effectiveness of risk management, including board and management oversight, policies & procedures, internal controls and management information systems. Ensure compliance with banking laws and regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business or a related field or equivalent experience. Examiner commission or certification from a federal or state regulatory agency. Five years of relevant banking experience (e.g., lending, capital markets, Bank Secrecy Act, or related experience). Ability to lead or participate in bank examinations or bank holding company inspections. Sound ability to prepare professional supervisory reports. Knowledge in finance, accounting, lending, banking operations or related fields. Interest in coaching, mentoring, and developing peers. Ability to work in a team setting, serving as a team member or leader. Must have access to confidential supervisory information (CSI) and/or Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) information. Access is limited to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or individuals who meet the definition of a protected individual under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) and certain other non‑immigrants. Employees requiring access must comply with periodic background investigations and information‑handling policies. Work Setting The position requires onsite work and is not eligible for remote status. Candidates must live in, or relocate to, the Eighth Federal Reserve District and work out of the Memphis, TN; Louisville, KY; or St.Louis, MO offices. Relocation incentives are available.
