Quality Control Technician

Winpak Control Group Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our Quality department based out of Norwood, New Jersey.

In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring that products consistently meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards. This position performs inspections, testing, and quality verification throughout the manufacturing process while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.

Work in accordance with all cGMP, product safety, quality, food safety, and health and safety requirements, reporting unsafe conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections to verify products meet customer specifications, company quality standards, and established testing procedures.
• Conduct dimensional, visual, functional, and performance testing using precision measuring instruments and quality testing equipment, while completing line clearances and production start-up inspections.
• Identify, document, and help resolve non-conforming products by issuing quality reports, supporting corrective actions, and maintaining accurate quality records in accordance with SOPs.
• Maintain all relevant records and documentations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by participating in Gauge R&R studies, R&D trial runs, product validations, and other quality improvement activities as applicable.
• Communicate quality issues, process deviations, equipment concerns, and material discrepancies to Production and Quality leadership.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent, with at least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment.
• Ability to read and interpret product specifications, work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn and operate precision measuring instruments and quality testing equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, good color vision, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, meet production deadlines, and work overtime as required.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality, workplace safety, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., food, pharmaceutical, medical device, or packaging).
• Familiarity with cGMP principles and quality management systems.
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, or laboratory testing equipment.
• Knowledge of inspection sampling methods, non-conformance reporting, and corrective action processes.
• Experience participating in Gauge R&R or other quality improvement initiatives is a plus.
• Understanding of statistical quality concepts and process control techniques.

Additional Information:

• The Quality Control Technician position is 100% onsite

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with frequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the production environment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg) and perform repetitive inspection and testing tasks with a high degree of accuracy.

Compensation range:

The compensation range is $21–$25 and is provided as a general guideline only. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience and expertise and is subject to vary.
