Step into a meaningful role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 26/27 school year. This contract opportunity is designed for educators who thrive in inclusive environments, focusing on 4th-grade students in a co-taught classroom setting. Enjoy part-time hours, from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, allowing you to balance professional growth with personal commitments.
Your responsibilities will center on ELA and math instruction while collaborating closely with a general education teacher to deliver personalized support for students with diverse needs. The role is ideal for educators who are passionate about making a lasting difference and value team-based approaches to instruction.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility) for the state
- Prior experience with elementary-aged or 4th-grade students preferred
- Strong background in ELA and Math instruction
- Experience with or interest in co-teaching models
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to individual needs
- Effective communication and collaborative skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging ELA and math lessons tailored to IEP goals
- Collaborate with a co-teacher to foster an inclusive, supportive classroom
- Use data to monitor progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Contribute to the development and review of IEPs
- Engage with families and support staff for student success
- Maintain thorough and compliant documentation
