Assistant/Associate/Professor of Small Animal Surgery - Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine Job no: 501341 Work type: Full-Time (Regular) Location: Glassboro, New Jersey Position Overview This role is ideally suited for an entrepreneurial surgeon who is excited by the opportunity to develop a high-quality, referral-based clinical service that reflects both best practices and the evolving needs of the surrounding veterinary referral community. The initial emphasis will be on service development, caseload growth, and relationship-building with regional referring veterinarians. As the service matures, the role will evolve into a clinical teaching position, incorporating didactic instruction, clinical mentorship, and active participation in the veterinary curriculum. Key Opportunities Develop and lead a surgical service within a brand‑new, purpose‑built teaching hospital. Collaborate closely with hospital leadership to design innovative workflows, service models, and clinical protocols. Engage with a supportive and expanding regional referral network to tailor services to community needs. Gradually transition into clinical teaching and didactic responsibilities, aligned with the School's educational mission. Participate in shaping the culture, standards, and long‑term vision of a new veterinary medical program. Required Qualifications Board certification in Veterinary Surgery (DACVS or equivalent). Demonstrated interest in clinical excellence and service development. Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for collaboration with referring veterinarians. Interest in teaching and mentoring veterinary students as the role evolves. Salary Range In compliance with the State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $290,000.
