Established (40+ Years) Premier Firm Seeking Commercial Litigation Attorney Baltimore, MD!

An established + growing mid-sized firm based in Baltimore, MD with over 40 years in practice is seeking a Commercial Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join their team in a hybrid work environment. 

 

This opportunity is ideal for a litigation attorney who can independently manage cases from inception through resolution while handling commercial litigation, business disputes, breach of contract matters, partnership disputes, business torts, shareholder litigation, and complex commercial disputes . 

 

The practice represents businesses, executives, and entrepreneurs in sophisticated litigation matters before state and federal courts.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

• Active bar admission in Maryland or ability to waive into the Maryland Bar

• 5+ years of commercial litigation or business litigation experience

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage a litigation caseload from start to finish

• Strong experience handling pleadings, motions, written discovery, depositions, and court appearances

• Experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions

• Proven legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Experience taking and defending depositions

• Ability to develop litigation strategy and advise clients on complex business disputes

• Strong client relationship management and communication skills

• Experience appearing in state and federal courts

 

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial litigation matters from intake through trial, settlement, arbitration, or other resolution

• Represent businesses, executives, owners, and entrepreneurs in complex commercial disputes

• Develop case strategy and provide practical legal counsel to clients throughout all phases of litigation

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation-related documents

• Conduct and defend depositions, witness preparation, and fact investigations

• Handle discovery management, document review, and e-discovery coordination

• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings

• Prepare cases for trial and assist with courtroom advocacy as needed

• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status, risk assessment, and litigation strategy

• Collaborate with partners and other attorneys on complex business litigation matters while maintaining primary responsibility for assigned cases

• Generate and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the commercial litigation practice
