Job SummaryGeneral Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Workplace Investigations Manager in our Workplace Investigations Unit located in San Diego (Torrey Pines), CA.Reporting to the Director of Workplace Investigations, this position provides on-site leadership and daily supervision for a team of seven investigators while conducting complex workplace investigations on behalf of the enterprise.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:As the Workplace Investigations Manager, approximately 50% of time in this position will be dedicated to leadership and management, 25% to investigative work, and 25% to strategic and organizational planning.Leadership & Management Responsibilities:Support the Director of Workplace Investigations with daily operations of the unitManage operations of the investigative team, including workflow coordination, resource allocation, and operational decision-makingLead, mentor, and direct a team of seven investigatorsConduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional development of team membersReview and ensure quality of investigative work products, providing guidance and feedback to maintain high standardsPrioritize and allocate investigative workload across the teamDevelop and present training programs on investigative topicsInvestigative Responsibilities:Independently manage and conduct complex investigations into unlawful workplace activity and policy violations in an independent, objective, unbiased, and professional mannerRespond to complaints from the Integrity Hotline, email, and direct calls in a timely mannerConduct sensitive interviews with employees and other partiesCollaborate with team members on complex casesAuthor detailed professional reports and maintain organized case filesPreserve evidence and analyze data to support findingsInterface with executives and external counsel on investigative mattersMaintain strict discretion and confidentialityStrategic & Organizational Planning:Lead initiatives for investigative process enhancements and improvementsProvide creative solutions to employee relations issues with comprehensive knowledge of Company policies, procedures, and practices, as well as federal/state laws and regulations pertaining to workplace conductContribute to development of new investigative processes and systemsPerform trend analysis and special projects as assignedGeneral Requirements:Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the CompanyExpected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practicesWork flexible hours to respond to urgent issues and workload requirementsTravel throughout San Diego County and out-of-state as required.We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.Job QualificationsTypically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline and thirteen or more years of progressive human resources professional experience.
