Private Credit - Special Situations

Paul Hastings' Financial Restructuring Group is looking to hire a Finance Associate with at least five to seven years of experience to join the Private Credit & Special Situations team in NY.


The ideal candidate will have experience working on a broad array of complex debt financing transactions, including acquisition financing (especially for sponsor-backed companies in the middle market), term loan facilities and working capital facilities, as well as familiarity with commitment letters and sponsor grids, unitranche facilities, and intercreditor arrangements. Though our practice's largest clients are private credit and opportunistic debt funds, ad hoc lender groups, and investment and commercial banks, we regularly represent corporate borrowers and private equity sponsors, as well.


This role is unique because it sits within dynamic financial restructuring practice and, in addition to working on new performing credit/leveraged finance transactions, you will also have the opportunity to represent clients on a wide range of special situations, workout, and in and out of court restructuring transactions. While experience with distressed credit would be a plus, a solid base in leveraged finance, combined with an intellectual curiosity in expanding your skill set beyond performing credit, is more important.

Candidates must be admitted to the NY State Bar and be in good standing. Strong academic credentials and law firm experience are required. Please submit a cover letter, resume, deal sheet, and law school transcript.

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $365,000 and a maximum of $420,000 (annually). The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
