Senior Pricing Analyst (Law firm experience Strongly Preferred) Locations: New York, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Orange County, Dallas, Houston, Denver, or San Francisco Schedule: Hybrid, with approximately 1–2 days per week in the office depending on location Compensation: $100,000–$140,000 annually Classification: Exempt Position Overview A leading international law firm is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst to join its growing finance team. This position will support the development of competitive fee structures, financial models, matter budgets, and profitability strategies across the firm’s U.S. and global practices. The ideal candidate will have approximately three to six years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, procurement, or a related area. Prior legal pricing experience is strongly preferred; however, candidates from other sophisticated professional‑services environments may be considered. Successful candidates will demonstrate career progression, strong business judgment, and the ability to build trusted relationships with attorneys, firm leadership, and administrative teams. This position reports to a senior member of the firm’s pricing leadership team. Key Responsibilities Partner with attorneys and business development professionals to prepare pricing strategies and financial components for client proposals and pitches. Develop financial models that evaluate proposed fee structures, matter economics, and anticipated profitability. Analyze market conditions, client trends, and internal performance data to identify opportunities related to rates, pricing, and revenue growth. Review historical matters and comparable engagements to help attorneys establish informed budgets and pricing assumptions. Create and maintain budgeting tools, templates, and financial resources for legal teams. Collaborate with matter-management professionals to track performance against budget and recommend adjustments when appropriate. Review billing rates and negotiated fee arrangements for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal guidelines. Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate pricing activity, financial results, and emerging trends. Work across finance and other business functions to improve data quality and ensure reliable information is available for pricing analysis. Evaluate client and matter performance to uncover opportunities for alternative fee arrangements or pricing modifications. Conduct customized financial analyses using the firm’s reporting systems, business‑intelligence platforms, and other data sources. Support department initiatives and special projects as business needs evolve. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, accounting, economics, business, project management, law, or a related discipline. Approximately 5-6+ years of relevant experience in pricing, financial analysis, procurement, or a comparable function. Experience within a large law firm or other professional‑services organization is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of pricing methodology, matter economics, and profitability analysis. Advanced Excel capabilities, including complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, and large-scale data manipulation. Power Query or VBA experience is a plus. Familiarity with financial platforms such as Elite 3E or Aderant is preferred. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or a comparable reporting and visualization platform is beneficial. Excellent analytical judgment with the ability to translate detailed financial information into practical business recommendations. Proactive and self‑directed, with the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to work effectively with attorneys, senior leaders, and colleagues across multiple departments. Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and adapt to a variety of working and communication styles. Commitment to handling sensitive firm and client information with discretion. The anticipated annual salary range is $100,000–$140,000 . The final offer will be based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other business considerations.
