Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position with a Night shift of 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30).

Job Description

We are seeking a strong Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse with experience in critical care settings such as CCU or CVICU. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of advanced cardiac devices and diagnoses commonly found in our patient population, including LVAD, Impella, IABP, and CRRT. The position requires comprehensive care for cardiac/medical intensive care patients as well as some step-down overflow.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with advanced cardiac devices and diagnoses.
• Manage dysrhythmias and perform interpretations as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments, including continuous IV sedation and blood products.
• Conduct post-cardiac surgery care and pre/post-cardiac catheter interventions.
• Perform arterial line management, hemodynamic monitoring, and CRRT.
• Maintain patient ratios of 2:1 for intensive care.
• Support interdisciplinary collaboration with various medical teams.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of cardiac ICU experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in post-operative care (not directly from the OR) and sheath removal.
• Demonstrated ability to care for ventilated patients and manage invasive lines.
