Job Purpose The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business and growing existing accounts within an assigned territory. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will identify and qualify prospects, conduct in-person sales meetings, and build relationships with chefs, operators, buyers, and other decision-makers. You will guide prospects through Cream Co.’s sales process while maintaining an active and healthy pipeline. This position is based at Cream Co. South (Our office is in S. El. Monte, CA)and requires a consistent field schedule throughout the assigned territory. Key Responsibilities Prospecting and New Business Identify and qualify prospective customers across assigned channels and territories. Generate opportunities through cold calling, email, referrals, networking, events, and in-person visits. Build relationships with chefs, operators, buyers, and key decision-makers. Maintain an active pipeline and meet assigned activity and new-account goals. Manage a weekly schedule of prospect meetings, presentations, tastings, and follow-ups. Understand each prospect’s menu, sourcing priorities, volume, costs, and operational needs. Develop solutions using Cream Co.’s products, programs, and services. Territory and Account Growth Develop and execute a sales plan for the assigned territory. Maintain a consistent cadence of valuable touchpoints with existing customers. Identify opportunities to expand product mix and market share within each account. Introduce products and programs that support each customer’s business. Monitor account performance and respond proactively to changes in purchasing activity. Collaborate with purchasing, operations, production, and customer service to support account growth. Sales Process and Account Management Manage opportunities from initial outreach through pricing, sampling, onboarding, first order, and ongoing development. Maintain accurate and timely records within the company’s CRM, ERP, and other sales tools. Meet or exceed KPIs related to prospecting, field meetings, pipeline development, conversion, revenue growth, and new accounts. Coordinate samples, pricing proposals, product presentations, and onboarding requirements. Maintain ownership of customer communication and ensure clear internal handoffs. Develop a working knowledge of order entry, pricing, inventory, fulfillment, and delivery requirements. Product Knowledge and Customer Solutions Develop a strong understanding of Cream Co.’s products, sourcing standards, production capabilities, and supplier partners. Answer customer questions about product specifications, pricing, availability, sourcing, and applications. Provide product education and practical training to customers. Incorporate whole-animal utilization into sales conversations. Recommend creative alternatives when customers face supply, pricing, or operational challenges. Communicate customer feedback and product needs to internal teams. Reporting and Market Awareness Report weekly and monthly sales activity, pipeline progress, account performance, and forecasts. Use customer data to identify trends in sales, seasonality, product mix, retention, and growth. Stay informed about market conditions, competitive activity, and industry trends. Share customer insights and market intelligence with sales leadership and cross-functional teams. Skills and Qualifications Experience in outside sales, business development, territory management, or account management. Demonstrated ability to prospect, build relationships, manage a pipeline, and close business. Interest in sustainable proteins, responsible agriculture, and whole-animal utilization. Entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for building a territory. Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Excellent time management and territory-planning abilities. Experience using CRM systems, email, Google Workspace, and other digital business tools. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team. Commitment to providing best-in-class customer service. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
